Websites for Single Mothers:

www.singlemothersbychoice.org
(which is run by Jane Mattes, author of the classic book
"Single Mothers by Choice")

www.choicemoms.org
(which has a great hour long digital interview with experts
offering recommendations on answering "the Daddy question"
and a new ebook on genetic considerations in choosing a
sperm donor with input by  Anne Morriss of GenePeeks)

Books we recommend:

ccomeo"Love"L
"Love is a Family" by Roma Dowley
(Very helpful in facilitating discussions about how every family is different but what makes a family is love).

"Who's in a Family?" by Robert Kutch
(Looks at a wide variety of families--some with only fathers, some with only mothers, some where kids move back and forth between parents, some headed by grandmothers: what they all have in common is love).

"Why Don't I have a Daddy?" by George Ann Clay
(This book directly tackles the question of donor conception when a young lion cub asks his mother why he doesn't have a daddy who lives with them when others do. The mother tells the young cub he does have a father, but that his father is a donor father. Again, the strong message is that love is "what matters is not how many people you have in your family but how much love you share).
