Books we recommend:"Love is a Family" by Roma Dowley
(Very helpful in facilitating discussions about how every family is different but what makes a family is love). "Who's in a Family?" by Robert Kutch (Looks at a wide variety of families--some with only fathers, some with only mothers, some where kids move back and forth between parents, some headed by grandmothers: what they all have in common is love). "Why Don't I have a Daddy?" by George Ann Clay (This book directly tackles the question of donor conception when a young lion cub asks his mother why he doesn't have a daddy who lives with them when others do. The mother tells the young cub he does have a father, but that his father is a donor father. Again, the strong message is that love is "what matters is not how many people you have in your family but how much love you share). |
